Through out the school year clubs will compete with each other via variety of activities to earn points. At the end of the school year a winner club will declare themselves a winner to earn championship trophy.

The goal is to be role models and lead by example in and out of the classroom. They understand as students before they are athletes and that this relationship is reciprocal. As a team, the Cheerleading Club will work together to improve academically, physically, and mentally every day with the intention of being role models and reaching their ultimate goal of being the best cheer team they can possibly be.

Dance Club
Dance embodied one of our most primal relationships to the universe. It is pre-verbal, beginning before words can be formed. It is innate in children before they possess command over language and is evoked when thoughts or emotions are too powerful for words to contain.
South Florida School of Excellence believes that dance is a powerful ally for developing many of the attributes of a growing child. Dance helps children mature physically, emotionally, socially, and cognitively. The physical benefits of dance are widely accepted, but the emotional, social and cognitive attributes have only recently begun to be appreciated.
Type of Dances will be announced!

Crafts explore themes such as culture, science, and math. Through these crafts, students learn background information about each of the themes. Upon completion of an activity, students are encouraged to share their artwork with their peers, friends, and family. Students will have fun at this club while learning about this art form.

Anime Club
Anime club is an after school activity which aims to bring The South Florida School Of Excellence’s student body together and broaden their understanding of the inherently deep culture of Japan.
To accomplish this, Anime Club looks to expand student horizons by exploring various aspects such as Anime (Similar to an American cartoon with attention to artistic detail, and occasionally focusing on deep themes representative of differing life values), manga (Similar to American Comics addressing ideas from minute to complex), art (A culturally different artistic style which has been perfected over generations), and occasionally, learning how to make food (foods can include fish product, but allergies are fully considered!!
Traditional staples, like sushi and onigiri, are eaten and can be taught). While the culture may be vast, exploring the uncharted terrain becomes manageable through the mission’s goal to reinforce the glue of diversity, the love for knowledge, and the enjoyment of student engagement. With these three efforts and a safe space, the opportunity for growth is infinite!

Music club students participate in school and community chorus performances that they invited to perform. No audition is required for participants to join the chorus club.

Environmental Club
Young people see a problem and are instantly motivated to act. A school environment club gives students the platform they need to take action on the environmental issues they feel passionate about. Channeling student energy and enthusiasm into an environment club will let students take a leadership role in identifying and achieving your school’s environmental goals.
Environmental Club can offer students a wonderful vehicle for gaining positive feelings about the environment and their place in it. This, along with the knowledge and skills that they acquire, can not only give them a tremendous sense of fulfillment but also foster personal qualities that will stay with them all of their life.
Choose a cause. Some good ideas might be something like, “Save the whales!” or “Stop global warming!” the cause should also relate to where you are. For example, ‘save the whales‘ might not be such a good idea if you live 10 hours to the nearest whale location, whereas ‘keep our state clean’ would work anywhere. But nothing says you can’t do more than one cause. Your club could do a different cause every month.
Name your club. This can be as simple as ‘The Environmental Club’ or as cool as ‘Team Environment’. Some words you could use are green, tree-hugger, and, of course, something that relates to your cause. Then you can start accepting members.
Start researching. Now that you have your club, you need to assign days you will get together to study your cause. After the club members are experts on the cause, research places where you can help or protest, depending on your cause.
Find a clubhouse. Your club must have a place where it gets together to have meetings and discuss your projects. It could be in the woods (just don’t litter), in someone’s room, living room, tree house, or your yard, there are endless possibilities.
Have meetings. Find a time that suits most of your club members (if not all) and talk about possible projects. They could be fund-raisers, cleanups, spreading awareness, it should relate to what you have been researching.
Decide on jobs. Each club member should have a certain job they need to do. Some you could include are recruiter, site administrator, activity manager, Project manager, the President who decides all the meeting times, new members, meeting places, activities, and projects. (The president only decides on them, does not think them up.)

Evidence based research has proven that children develop logical, literary, executive, and even social skills playing video games. In addition, gaming demonstrate long-lasting positive effects on basic mental processes, such as perception, attention, memory, and decision-making. Most of the research involves effects of action video games that is, games that require players to move rapidly, keep track of many items at once, hold a good deal of information in their mind at once, and make split-second decisions. Many of the abilities tapped by such games are precisely those that psychologists consider to be the basic building blocks of intelligence.
